Assassin's Creed Odyssey Guide: What Carries Over to New Game+?

Patch 1.1.4 has been released for Assassin's Creed Odyssey, and one of the big new features added to the game with the 5.33 GB update is New Game+.

With New Game+ now available, you might have some questions: How do you start New Game+ in Assassin's Creed Odyssey? Will be weapons carry over in New Game+? Fortunately, we've checked all of the details and put them together in a quick guide.

How do you Start New Game+ in Assassin's Creed Odyssey?

To start New Game+ in Assassin's Creed Odyssey, you will first have to complete the Main Odyssey (storyline quests) in the normal game. The Main Odyssey concludes with the "Dinner in Sparta" quest. If you have already completed the Main Odyssey, you will be notified that you can start New Game+ when you load up your existing save for the first time after update 1.1.4 has been installed.

To access New Game+, pause the game using the Menu Button, press left on the D-pad to return to the game's main menu and select New Game+

Before starting New Game+, make sure that you create a manual save of your existing game if you want to return to it again in the future. Autosaves will be overwritten with your New Game + progress and your previous save will be lost if you do not create a manual save.

What Carries Over in Assassin's Creed Odyssey New Game+?

Almost everything outside of quest and story progression made in the normal game will carry over to the game when you start New Game+. Below is a handy list of what will carry over in Assassin's Creed Odyssey's New Game+:

• Your resources including Orichalcum
• Your levels including mastery levels
• All of your weapons and armour
• Your ship upgrades and cosmetics
• Any ship lieutenants acquired from the in-game store and Ubisoft Club
• All of your drachmae (in-game currency)

What Doesn't Carry Over in Assassin's Creed Odyssey New Game+?

As you'd expect, the following things will not carry over in New Game+:

• Story and quest progression
• Mercenary progression (though the economic benefits unlocked in the first playthrough are saved)
• Cultist progression
• Fog of war status (Map discovered)
• Points of Interest (e.g. viewpoints, forts)
• Ship lieutenants (apart from any acquired from the in-game store and Ubisoft Club)

In addition, you won't be able to obtain legendary weapons and gear again in New Game+. Rather than duplicating items, your existing legendary weapons that were unlocked when playing the game originally will be automatically upgraded to the level of the defeated cultist in New Game+.

Can You Play as Alexios or Kassandra in Assassin's Creed Odyssey New Game+?

The simple answer is yes! When you start New Game+, you will be given the choice of which of the game's protagonist's you would like to play as.

Changing which character you choose to play with for New Game+ will not affect which items are carried over. Armour will look different depending on which character is wearing it, but all of the stats and New Game+ progression will remain the same.

Is There a New Trophy / Reward for Playing New Game+?

Nope! Ubisoft has stated there will be no reward for playing through Assassin's Creed Odyssey on New Game+.
